First annual Alley 33 Fashion Show

We have many talented designers in Portland and the 1st Annual Alley 33 show was the place to show that off! The announcer was Adorn’s good friend Alicia Wood who operates under the brand Ms. Wood (who's wooden accessories we carry) and the event featured looks from Radish Underground, Michelle Is Well, Carolyn Hart, Clair Vintage (a brand we carry as well) and many more! I wasn’t sure what to expect as this was my first time attending any fashion event but the atmosphere was very casual, there were lots of families there and in true Portland fashion (no pun intended) people were wearing sparkly flip flops. It was very exciting to see what our city has to offer in local fashion and I look forward to the event next year! Check out their blog here.

Hey everyone, Ryan here! Having a good week so far? I sure hope so, regardless of how the weather is behaving. But now that the sun is slowly peaking out (it is summer, right?) I think it’s a good idea to remind/update you on some events that are happening!

This Saturday (7/23), the Alley 33 Fashion Event will be taking place. Put on by Mag-Big, Siren Nation and Breedom Public Sewing House, this show that takes place in an ally off 33^rd and Hawthorne will be one you will want to check out! Alicia Wood will be in attendance with the mic along with several clothing and apparel design companies. What’s the best part? It’s on a Saturday which means not much traffic and the entrance fee is just $10. Doors open at 4 pm and the show goes from 6 pm – 7pm. Also I’d like to take the time to remind you all of the upcoming Fremont Fest. This will be happening on August 6^th and will be a fun event with all of Fremont participating. As more details roll in I will be sure to update you all in the next two Wednesday blogs!

And lastly – let me just say I can’t give out too many details but big things are in store for Shop Adorn, which is cool because usually it’s the other way around. Stay tuned for more exciting details as the weeks past to learn what kind of makeover the store will be getting!

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! I know I did.  Were any of you aware that here in Oregon we have one of the strictest firework laws? Of course you do, because taking that trip to liberal Washington is a yearly event.

Anyways - events, events, events. This blog will be a weekly feature about all things Portland! Or maybe all things Shop Adorn! Well most likely about fun events happening in or around the store. So what’s happening this week or in the upcoming weeks? Let’s find out!

For starters if you are reading this and didn’t attend Shop Adorns monthly Second Friday, you missed out. But don’t fret! Our next one is just around the corner…if that corner was a Thursday. Yes be sure to check out this blog for updates on our next second Friday in August! It’s sure to be a great time down here at Shop Adorn.

Another thing, Fremont Fest!!!! Yes in less than 4 weeks NE Fremont will be closing its roads to all traffic and letting local vendors and shops tote around outside! There will be plenty to eat and drink and lots to see. Yours truly and the rest of the Shop Adorn crew will be out in force making sure to meet and greet any visitors! (I know you want to meet your weekly blogger).

Also in the works will be information regarding Portland Fashion Week! I know it isn’t happening until October but preparing to fail is failing to prepare…or is it the other way around?
