There are many benefits to being tall. You’ll never need a step stool to reach the top shelf, you rarely have to alter a pair of designer denim and you can wear just about any long silhouette that exists. Be it a tunic or a maxi length dress or skirt, you have enough vertical real estate to carry all that fabric.
This week I had the privilege of dressing Meghan Heily-Zonich. This mother of two and owner of NW Distillery and Liquid Vodka makes busy look good.
We started with the Sanctuary Clothing Maxi. The A-line shape is so flattering and the print is like wearing a piece of artwork. We defined the dress with a leather Obi belt and accessorized with one of my favorites, Special Portland jewelry.
There are just too many cute maxi dresses to choose from so I had to pick thisQSW Maxi Dress. It’s both super comfortable but super flattering with the tulip wrap in the front. Pair this dress with flip flops in the summer or dress it up with a Gentle Fawn Blazer and take this outfit from day to date night. Because both these silhouettes are simple I wanted a necklace that was simple but made a statement. I needed to look no further than Betsy & Iya for what I was looking for. This Sunset Under the Arches necklace is both simple but bold and definitely not boring.
We then changed things up with the QSW Sketchy Squares dress. This would be an adorable dress on someone a little shorter, but on Meghan it’s more of a long tunic that we paired over some leggings by Niki Biki. Comfortable and chic. Pairing a bright belt gives this tunic/dress some added shape. We contrasted the black and white with some turquoise and orange earrings. And finished the outfit off with the ‘fit the kitchen sink in’ Melie Bianco bag, which runs for only $99!
So the next silhouette isn’t long but Meghan wanted to try on this Bailey 44 dress and it looked so stunning on her I had to feature it. I mean seriously this dress looks bananas on her. The design lines create and flatter Meghans curves while the length flatters her long legs. When you find a dress that will knock the socks off anyone who sets eyes on you, buy it. It WILL come in handy one day. I promise.
So it’s true, if you’re lucky enough to have some vertical real estate you’re lucky enough to pull of some really fantastic long silhouettes. And I always say, if you can, do!
