There are women who when they go shopping can’t find a thing that fits them and it’s not because everything is too small, it’s because everything is too big, even the extra smalls. Their frames are so small and petite, everything swims on them. We invited our petite, extra, EXTRA small friend, Madi Roosevelt, into Adorn to show her some styles that would fit her frame, as well as function for her stylish lifestyle as a Mother and an Instagram Blogger: UpCloseWithMadi
Kaya Di Koko Top (available in store; online soon!)
Threads 4 Thought Leggings
Yosi Samra Bronze Ballet Flats
Mishakaudi Brass Fan Earrings (available in store; online soon!)
Manos Zapotecas Bag (available in store)
When you have an extra small frame you want to make the most out of what you’ve got without overwhelming yourself. This outfit for Madi is easy and comfortable. The Kaya Di Koko tank is stylish and appropriately over-sized, without swallowing her frame up. A little volume can be great for a small frame. And the polka dot leggings are unexpected and adorable. Bold but not busy jewelry balance out this funky eclectic look. Only a fashionista like Madi could pull this off.
This mother of two small children has a very, VERY full plate. After a day with her kids she can often have a stylish event to attend and finding dresses that fit can be difficult. I have found that if a dress seems too large, if the shoulders of a dress or top are taken up an inch or so, fit will be perfect. It’s an affordable alteration and I know Julia over at Silhouette is accustomed to it since I send all my extra, EXTRA small clients there. We got lucky for Madi though, this little Jack by BB Dakota black frock fits her perfectly. We dressed it up with a bright belt that we tied in a knot since it was too big for her waist and some bright and bold jewelry to make a statement.
Kaya Dikoko Double Panel Top
Prairie Underground Denim Girdle Capri
Yosi Samra Leopard Ballet Flats
Ellington Charlie Clutch
Assorted Bracelets & Earrings (available in store)
It’s fun to put the effort into going funky and eclectic or dressing up in a frock for an event but tossing on something classic, you can never go wrong. What I love about this little purple top is, it’s shorter in the front and longer in the back (with adorable button detailing) so you visually see more of Madi’s leg, making her look as tall and long as her petite-ness will allow. You do look as tall as the amount of leg proportion showing. And we just paired this with an easy Prairie Underground Denim Girdle Capri and super stylish Yosi Samra Leopard print ballet flats so she can easily run around after her ‘littles’ and then head off to a lunch meeting and still look put together and stylish.
So even if you’re extra, EXTRA small, with a little patience (and maybe a minor alteration), you can find easy styles and outfits that will fit and flatter your figure as well as function for your lifestyle.
