Whether it be a tee-shirt or jacket what you buy and add to your wardrobe, it should be friendly with the other pieces in your closet. This means that one item should be able to mix and match with at the very least three different outfits in your closet. This rule to having an effective and efficient wardrobe pertains to the accessories you adorn yourself with as well. That necklace, earring, pair of shoes or bag you buy needs to also coordinate with up to three outfits in your closet. If it doesn’t, it’s not worth the money you spend on it.

I shopped three different outfits at Adorn but styled the same jewelry with each ‘fit’ so you can see how versatile even one set of accessories can be even if they are colorful and not solely neutral.

First lets start with our adornment.  This necklace (available in store) caught my eye not only because of the beautiful soft salmon colored stone but I love the mix of silver and gold metals with leather. It has it all in one simple but beautiful piece.  To compliment the simplicity of this necklace I had to go with one of my favorites, Betsy & Iya James John Hoop earring. A classic but yet original too. These pieces are simple yet stylish and will go with a number of outfits.

The bold simplicity of these pieces stands out and away from the busy navy and white stripe of this Bailey44 High Tide top. This top has so much style and uniqueness that you don’t want your jewelry to take away from that.  And the warmth of the colored stone in the necklace compliments the warmth of these super comfy but adorable LA Made Slouchy Sweatpants.

In contrast putting these accessories next to a more simple and classic silhouette and color palette, the pieces stand out and make a great style statement.  The warmth of the stone and in the brass in the earrings compliments the cream in the Fine Collection Baseball Style sweater as well as the green tint to the Prairie Underground Girdle pant.

Jewelry can dress up even the most casual of outfits.I recommend my clients wear ‘The Bow’ no matter what they’re wearing. It should just be appropriate for the occasion. I often joke that while fly-fishing I’m still wearing a hoop earring and stylish polarized sunglasses. I joke, but I’m actually dead serious. You may say I have a problem, I say, I picked the right career. Here the necklace and earrings dress up and create an ensemble with the Raw Earth Wild Sky Sankuru jacket and Ella Moss Stretch Linen pant.

I wasn’t about to forget the ‘Girls Night’ or ‘Date Night’ fit!  These pieces again compliment a dressier blouse, one, because the necklace doesn’t interfere or distract from the details of the Gentle Fawn Safari Shirt and the color of the metals, stones and leather all standout and compliment the dark brown of the awesome Furies Pipe Pant. This is proof that one statement necklace in a beautiful color and a simple but unique earring can enhance one’s wardrobe.
