The number one reason that I love the holidays so much is because it’s the one time of the year that you get to shower your friends and family with goodies and presents all at one. The only thing that beats the excitement of handing a wrapped gift over to someone special and watching their face light up with excitement (or, at least that’s what you hope they do!) is handing over a gift you made yourself, with love and care. A great DIY gift can often times bring just as much excitement as an expensive gift you bought from the store. That being said, here are a few relatively easy (and often thrifty) DIY gift ideas that would be big hits this holiday season!
I have been meaning to do this DIY for a while now, and I finally decided to stop procrastinating and just do it! All you need is a denim shirt (because I’m a struggling post-grad I got mine from Goodwill!) and some great buttons and you can have a great DIY Embellished Denim Shirt that any one of my fashionable friends would go nuts for.
I’m not going to lie, sewing is not my strong suit. I try, but… I’m just not very good. But this Sequin DIY Clutch looks like it would actually be something my minimal skills could manage!
This DIY Jewelry Organizer is one of a ton that this website offers up. I love this particular one because of the rustic feel mixed with the glamour of the pearls, but all of these ideas would make fantastic gifts.
I have a ton of scarves, but tend to only wear a few over and over again. When I found this DIY Circle Scarf idea I thought it’d be a great way for me to get rid of those scarves I don’t wear anymore and give them to someone who might. I think my cousins are gonna like this :)
I thought this DIY Wall Art was a DARLING idea for children to make. Easy peasy, and 100% from the heart, this is a step up from the crayon drawings of stick figures that are hung on the fridge, as it’s framed and extremely artist looking.
If you tried my DIY Lib Scrub (which you should! I’m definitely going to make a pot for each of my cousins this Christmas) than you probably have coconut oil hanging around and brown sugar hanging around. What to do, what to do? Make this DIY Coconut & Rose Body Scrub, duh! This is a great gift for neighbors and co-workers as it smells great, feels fantastic and only requires a few ingredients.
Instead of shelling out the big bucks to give a gal a pricey Alexander Wang clutch, you can make your own that’s a fraction of the price but still as trendy and fun as the famous designer’s. This DIY Hardware Clutch is fresh and simple to make.
