Q&A with Barre3 Founder Sadie Lincoln

We at Shop Adorn love a good work out and always have aspirations of getting in fab shape at different points throughout the year, but there are times we lose motivation. Sadie Lincoln at Barre3 is just the lady to get anyone's butt in gear in Portland. Sadie brings more to her work than her extensive experience. She is a passionate instructor with a vision: to develop and support a family of studios run by entrepreneurs like herself.

Today Sadie is the founder of barre3 exercise studios where she creates classes inspired by three of her favorite disciplines: ballet barre work, yoga and Pilates. Sadie teaches at her flagship studios in Portland, Oregon and trains all barre3 instructors and studio owners worldwide.

A native of Eugene, Oregon, Sadie is thrilled to own her company in the Pacific Northwest while raising her two kids, alongside her husband and business partner.

Sadie is an active member of our community and her style reminds us of a lot of our clients so we wanted to learn the inspiration behind her personal fashion.

1. How would you describe your personal fashion?

Casual, easy, sporty meets grace.

2. Who are your biggest style influencers and why

I like the modern bohemian/hippie look.  Kate Hudson pulls that off pretty well.   I am also influenced by many of my hip clients!

3. What is your go-to piece of clothing and why?

My go to piece of clothing is anything soft and tunic like that I can throw on after teaching class and go on with my day feeling put together.

4. Where do you turn for fashion inspiration?

Well, most of my life is spent in a barre3 studio so anything that works in that environment.  Beyond Lululemon, Nike and other fitness specific clothes,   I like Splendid, Velvet, Alternative Apparel, LA Made, GAP, and James Pierce.  All these brands are a nice mixture of sport and fashion.

5. What’s the one item you’ll splurge on and why?

Awesome jeans that fit well.  I love denim and probably always will.

6. How would you describe Portland Fashion?

Indie and functional
