Silvania Clothing: With Love From Peru

There’s nothing better than a brand with a story behind it, which is why were so excited to be carrying Silvania, a clothing and textiles line handcrafted in Peru. Local Portland designer, Georgia Kirkpatrick, recently relaunched her grandmother’s clothing line, which got its start in the late 1950s in Lima, Peru. The line features blouses and dresses made from luxurious organic pima cotton with silk-screened designs and embroidery inspired by Peruvian landscapes, architecture, and natural surroundings. Silvania is dedicated to using materials from small, family-owned farms in Peru and all of the embroidery is hand-stitched by a group of indigenous Shipibo artisans in the Amazon, whom they partner with and pay fair wages and health benefits to. You can find the full history and story of Silvania here.

We love the feminine cuts and beautiful designs, not to mention the lightweight and comfortable fabric. And these pieces are versatile enough to be worn for work or play. Dress up the blouse with the Agave Denim pencil skirt and a structured bag, or pair it with Prairie Underground Denim Girdle Capris and fun sandals for a sweet and effortless outfit.
