This week, I got the chance to catch up with my favorite Portland fashion photographer Lavenda Memory. Born and raised in Texas, Lavenda came to the city a few years back and has since taken it by storm.

Since her move to Portland, Lavenda has built a strong network with designers, boutiques, and publications from around the country such as Zooey, LadyGunn, Papercut, and Ben Trovato. With a love for fairy tales and a natural gravitation toward classic composition, each photo tells a story. She knows how to capture emotion. Her lighting techniques consistently have a whimsical element drawing any viewer into the story and letting them feel like they are present in that moment as well. It’s a wonderful thing that good photography can do.
In her spare time, Lavenda models, acts, blogs, and adds to her ever-growing collection of shoes and clothes. However, most of all, she is a mother of a little girl named Ella. She’s wonder woman with 6-inch+ heels and a camera. Lavenda entertains the notion that Portland is a creative and fashionable force to be reckoned with. It’s refreshing to know someone who works hard AND is fun to work with. Not to mention, she always maintains excellent taste in everything she does. We’re so excited she’s shooting our Summer/Pre-fall lookbook. LOVE this lady like mad!
